Collecting, storing and exhibiting materials related to the San'in Kaigan Geopark, and experience learning

Shin’onsen Town San’in Kaigan Geopark Center is the museum aiming to contribute to regional development, education, and cultural development through the collection, storage and exhibition of materials related to geopark and offering experience learning. In the center, a wide variety of rocks such as basalt, andesite and tuff making up geosites of the area, in addition to a model that explains the geology of the San'in Kaigan Geopark in an easy-to-understand manner, are exhibited. Learning support is also provided, so that learnings about the Geopark from various angles, from small children to the elderly, can be obtained.
