Please spend a relaxing time at Genbudo Park, where you can experience a different flow of time than normal.

Genbudo park is located in toyooka city. Genbudo Cave is a national natural monument. Genbudo is a regular, clean crack created by magma that flowed out from the top of the mountain due to volcanic activity 1.6 million years ago, when it cooled and hardened. Then, about 6,000 years ago, they were washed away by waves to reveal themselves, but they became caves because people extracted stones from them. The mysterious beauty of the numerous hexagonal piles of basalt rocks still attracts people today. In 1931, Dr. Motonori Matsuyama of Kyoto University discovered that the direction of magnetism of the rocks in the basalt caves was the opposite of that of today, facing south. This opened a new door for earth science.
