(1)Kyogamisaki Cape
Kyogamisaki Cape is the northernmost cape of the Kansai region. The cape was named Kyogamisaki--literally "Buddhist scriptures cape"--because its shape resembles that of many scrolls of Buddhist scriptures. There is a habitat of falcons near the cape.
(2)Kyogamisaki Lighthouse
The sea off Kyogamisaki has long been known as a dangerous spot for ships. This white lighthouse was built in 1898. This is one of only five lighthouses in Japan that uses a first-grade lens. There are remains of a quarry on the coast below the lighthouse. Stone quarried from there was used to build the lighthouse.
(3)Public viewing of the Kyogamisaki Lighthouse
The lighthouse is open to public every Octorber or November, and visitors can see the inside of the lighthouse. You can learn about coast guards and lighthouses throughout Japan.
