In the San’in Kaigan Geopark, Geopark guides and staff members of related facilities will guide you around the Geopark. They have a great deal of knowledge of the must-see spots in the Geopark, and the relationship between such spots and the Geopark. You can also ask for information on good restaurants in the area!

Kayak tours are provided by English-speaking guides. We welcome small groups as well. Each participant is so important! The guides from "Umi-to-sora-to-mori-to-hito" will help you make precious memories that will remain in your heart. We plan to build a "Marine Road" within the San’in Kaigan Geopark area.

【Guided Tour Details】

1. Experience the Geopark by strolling in the villages (Geosites) and town streets
Geopark guides, born and bred in this region, will guide you to Geosites and villages on the San’in Kaigan Coast where the legend of the fleeing Heike warrior still lingers on. Immersed in the history and legends of the area, you will gain a deeper understanding of the Geopark. (Must-see spots of the village of Ui in Takeno Town: Koishi-no-hama beach, ship houses, Senjo, Mihashira Shrine, columnar joints and remains of rice paddies, memorial monuments of turtles and whales, people’s lifestyles: past and present)

2. You will visit the Geosites of the San’in Kaigan Geopark located along the coast or river banks by kayak, guided by our Geopark guides who love outdoor activities.

(1) Kayak tours starting from Ui in Takeno Town, where our ship house is located. (On this course, you can enjoy the must-see spots of dynamic rhyolite rock in Ui, legendary waterfalls, and Ryugu-jo Palace.)

(2) Genbudo Cave tours starting from the waterfront of Kinosaki Hot Springs
(On this course, we approach Genbudo Cave in the Maruyama River area by kayak. After landing, you will also be able to see Genbudo Cave.)

Basic 2-hour course: 5,000 yen
