Coexistence of Nature and People
Local residents, private groups, companies, and government cooperate to conserve and utilize geological assets in the Sanfin Kaigan Geopark. They aim for sustainable local development through education, tourism and local industry.

Environmental Conservation
`Protection and Conservation of Geology and Nature`

`Nature Conservation`
–Protection and raising awareness of geological heritages
–Protection and raising awareness of rare animals and plants
–Promotion of volunteer nature services
–Breeding and conservation of oriental white storks

`Environmental Conservation`
–Promotion of local waste removal volunteer services
–Volunteer weeding at sand dunes
–Planting of deciduous trees for marine conservation

Protection and conservation
By planning a system where the local residents play a central role in the protection, conservation and active use of the geological terrain and surrounding environment, we hope to further expand and reinforce the various environmental conservation activities already being carried out in each region.
We are laying the groundwork for a system that will allow us to protect/conserve not only the geological resources (features/terrain) themselves, but their surrounding environment as well. Furthermore, we are actively developing environmental conservation activities, such as coastal cleanup campaigns, etc

To spread education@` Hands-on Learning with Local Resource `
By coordinating our efforts with educational institutions in each area, we aim to create an environment of hands-on learning that makes effective use of numerous geological resources located throughout the vast San'in Kaigan Geopark area, as well as the local resources (natural/historical/cultural/industrial/lifestyle related, etc.) that accompany them.

To promote local industries@` Geology in Everyday Life `
Since it is necessary to establish reliable sources of revenue in order for these Geopark activities to become sustainable, it is imperative for us to further develop our business operations, while taking into account existing model businesses and marketing activities that already work to promote local industry. At the same time it is necessary for our local residents, business owners, and local governments to come together in order to promote cooperation across a wide array of industries, such as the forestry and fishing industries and other local industries.
We hope to move forward with these efforts to revitalize our local industries, by coordinating our Geopark activities with the efforts of local businesses.

To create Geotourism@` Development of Tours Utilizing Geology `
In the Geopark area, there are countless sites and breathtaking scenic locations that have earned acclaim not only regionally, but nationally as well. In order to further improve the appeal of this region as a whole, we feel that we must develop the necessary aspects of Geotourism contents, so that we can produce a setting where one can experience various aspects of the history, traditional culture, and everyday lifestyle of the region, in addition to its physical scenic beauty.
