For example, we will introduce you to 63 hot spring sources in Yumura, as well as the daily lives of the residents who have used Arayu for 1,200 years. We will explain to you the residents’ traditional daily lifestyle, making use of hot springs for cooking (yugaki), bathing and hot-water bottles, and washing clothes and foot-bathing as well as the modern-day use of hot spring heat for power generation (small binary generators, Peltier generators). You will learn about the potentiality of hot springs and the latest energy saving technologies. You can also try your hand at boiling eggs in hot spring water and drinking hot spring water, as well as learning about the effects of hot spring water by attending an experiment comparing eggs boiled in hot spring water and ordinary boiling water.
