In the San’in Kaigan Geopark, Geopark guides and staff members of related facilities will guide you around the Geopark. They have a great deal of knowledge of the must-see spots in the Geopark, and the relationship between such spots and the Geopark. You can also ask for information on good restaurants in the area!

【Guided Tour Details】

We offer various activities such tree climbing using a rope, snowshoe walking that allows you to walk on the snow, and trekking in which you can feel the changing seasons. While instructing you how to use your body, we explain how the stones and landforms in front of us were created, and why there is heavy snowfall in the Kannabe Heights.

Why not join our guided Geo-walking in the Kannabe Heights, the sporting center of the Kansai region? Walking in the fresh air in a relaxed atmosphere, you can become healthier in both body and mind. You can enjoy wild spring vegetables in spring, waterfalls in summer, autumnal colors in fall, and snowshoe walking in winter. Hence you can enjoy walking throughout the year.

The Kannabe Heights

【Guided Tour Details】

(1) Mt. Kannabe Crater Excursion Course: approx. 150 min.
– On this course, you can visit the only crater in the Kinki region.
You can learn about the rich variety of wild plants that grow in the climate unique to this region, and explore potholes, which you cannot usually enter.

(2) Lava Flow Observation Course: approx. 150 min.
– On this course, you can observe unique rock surfaces created by the lava that flowed from Mt. Kannabe when it erupted. Find a rock that resembles an animal’s face, or waterfalls generating copious amounts of negative irons. We are waiting for you on the trails, speckled with sunlight filtering through the branches of the trees.

(3) Mt. Kannabe Excursion Course (only in winter): approx. 150 min.
– On this course, you can walk with a pair of snowshoes on the snowclad Kannabe Heights. *Only when the ground is covered with snow.
